What is stored in your browser
The site keeps a few small values in your browser's local storage so it can remember your timer durations, whether the chime is on, which topics you have already seen, and a running timer if you reload the page. These values never leave your device and you can clear them at any time by clearing site data in your browser. No cookies are set by this site.
What the server sees
Speech Roulette is a static site served through Cloudflare. When you load a page, Cloudflare's servers receive the same information every web request carries: your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. This is used to deliver the page and to protect the site from abuse, and is handled under Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Analytics
The site may use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies, without fingerprinting and without tracking you across other sites. It reports aggregate numbers such as how many people visited and which pages were popular. It does not build a profile of you.
Purchases
Purchases are processed by Stripe. When you choose to buy a product, Stripe receives the payment, contact and device information needed to complete the transaction, prevent fraud and provide a receipt under Stripe's privacy policy. Speech Roulette does not receive or store your full card number. Your checkout email is sent to Resend solely to deliver the purchased file and related transactional messages.
Notifications and permissions
If you turn on browser notifications under Timers, your browser will ask for permission and will show a notification when a timer ends. That permission is between you and your browser; the site has no server that could send you anything. The same goes for the screen wake lock and the vibration used on phones.
Advertising
There is currently no advertising on Speech Roulette. If that changes, this page will describe the provider and any cookies it sets before any ad is shown.
Children
The site does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children. The kids and students category is provided for teachers and parents to use with young speakers.
